What are the possible complications?
The most crucial part of liposuction is usually the first week following the surgery. This is the time when the body adjusts to the liposuction experience. Mild to moderate discomfort, tenderness, bruises and swelling is expected. However, the extent of these side effects varies from person to person.
Rarely, seroma can occur. Seroma is an accumulation of clear fluid underneath the tissues. This fluid is made up of lymph fluids that react in response to the liposuction. Most of the time, small seromas are naturally absorbed by the body. However, on rare occasions, it can grow more prominent, and aspiration of the fluid is necessary.
